Tan Eng Tong is the co-founder and CEO of Cytron Technologies. He started his robotic
journey in 2003 with a team of aspiring undergraduates who represented their university
in a robotic competition, which in turn sparked their passion and entrepreneurial spirits.
Established in late 2004, Cytron developed various kinds of training kits, development
boards, electronics modules to facilitate makers, researchers, and engineers in their roboic
related projects. In hope of inspiring and nurturing younger generaions into technology
leaders, Eng Tong then leads the team to develop a kid’s friendly roboic kit, rero, that was
launched in early 2015 as ASEAN’s First educaional robotic kit. Rero, a robotic kit that allows
everyone to build their own robot. In addiional to his own company, Eng Tong is also one of
the founding members of Malaysia IoT Consortium (MYIOTC) which aims to build a sustainable
