Have you ever thought what it feels like to be an entrepreneur, come across a great idea but lack the resources to realize it? Eric Parks, inspired by his own startup adventure, suggests that it’s like an entrepreneurial Odyssey. The road to the entrepreneurial Ithaca is indeed long and full of adventures, yet it is a journey worth taking.

An entrepreneur at heart, Eric Parks is one of the 6 founders, all from Greece, of gipht.me, a Silicon Valley startup with a smartphone and mobile devices platform that allows users to exchange interactive messages in a unique way.

The gipht.me team of 6 founders, working from 2010 had a background in social media and advertising that included more than 22 million users in various applications as well as several award winning advertising campaigns. Nevertheless, the team failed to raise seed capital in Greece before departing for Silicon Valley in February 2011 and successfully raising seed capital from Silicon Valley VC’s, Russian and Chinese investors within 3 months.

About TEDx:
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
