  1. Watching 4 years later. What that scene about realistic positivity really showed was how good Gary is with people. He knows their names, their personalities. He makes them feel valuable by calling them out even though he's in the middle of doing a thing for the camera. He fucking notices that the guy lost weight. And he's super authentic doing all of that. Man, how could they not love him?

  2. Not "all the way down" but maybe "straight across". Seeing you as an equal opportunist I dont think you view your staff as beneath you. But its just perspective with more realistic positive langauge.

  3. I think I appreciate most that you live as close to your rhetoric as is possible. In evangelical Christianity, you hear the phrase “Be the Gospel” over and over, but it is really hard to accomplish at the end of the day. However, what you preach is only gonna fall flat if you’re caught living in an incongruent way. I can see slips but your approach is so street and genuinely true to you so organic, the over all take by those around is that you are living a constant inner conversation to only accept the best estimation in any given situation. Idk if that makes any sense or not.
Kinda like a Jackie Chan fight scene: highly thought out and orchestrated yet looks like a spur of the moment, use all things around, totally flow through the environment, street fight. Hahahaha anyways respect to you and what you’re trying to do.

  4. Gary said he defaults by looking at the positive. I kind of agree but I also feel like he looks at the worst possible scenario and realizes he is doing better and shouldn't complain. Which makes humbles him and motivates him. Isn't that why saying "your going to die" is so motivating, first it's fear which motivates even the worst procrastinators and second when you realize your not dead it makes you appreciate everything you have. I think I trick myself into thinking this way, not really about death but like say I lost all my money and stuff, like my family is alive, and I can just earn that stuff back.. they are just things.. (I comment therefore I am)
