  1. I love Roy’s story at the end, and it’s the same thing Gary has been preaching forever – have a skill, identify a void in the marketplace, provide free value up front, then go in with the ask. Lather, rinse, repeat.

  2. Can't wait for more content from this segment! As a marketer, I can't emphasize enough how important it is to be relentlessly focused on the consumer, the market shifts in direction, and staying on top of trends since the landscape is always dynamically changing. The #1 way to be the best is to LISTEN to what your customers are telling you. The problem so many of us face is we're constantly looking at our competitors, instead of responding to what the market is trying to tell us. Can't figure out what your customers want? Their biggest pain points? What would provide an even better customer experience? Just listen – they are trying to tell you!

One of the biggest downfalls in business is spending too much time looking at what your competitors are doing instead of doubling down on yourself. Reality check: your competitors aren't focusing on you. That's why they're winning.

  3. Wow! I love Roy's perspective. Making a spreadsheet to see what other comedians were talking about so he could do it differently. L I S T E N I N G! This gives so much food for thought and really makes me rethink my approach. Thanks Gary Vee!
