In his talk, Ramy, the Program Director for SPARK Ventures, discusses the counter-productive culture on the rise surrounding startups and the prestigious CEO title; and discusses in detail the work that needs to be done to close the gap between hype and reality in Egyptian entrepreneurship

Ramy is Program Director for SPARK Ventures, an organization dedicated to empowering young leaders to turn their ideas and passions into high-impact startups, projects or social ventures.
Ramy’s experience includes co-founding KBI Ventures, an innovative real estate investment company that allows shared ownership that raised over a million dollars in its first year. He is also an active investor and adviser to startups that have become role models to many entrepreneurs in Egypt such as Simplex Arabia. Currently at Future Energy Corporation, Ramy leads international marketing campaigns and the firm’s initiative to transform Egypt into a regional energy hub. He graduated from Duke University with a Bachelors in Economics and a certificate in Information Science & Information Studies.
