Here is Something You Should See…

Measurement in the economic development space has grown significantly over the last decade, but organizations rarely focus these measurements on the outcomes of their labor. It’s easy to focus on our activities, but what are the tangible, net outcomes of these activities. In this practical talk, Arthur Price discusses the principles that guide Capable’s model. He’s showing us what it looks like to vigorously pursue the end of poverty in a localized context, and why more of us should care to see these principles in the organizations we support. Arthur oversees impact and operations for Capable, an economic development organization assisting subsistence farmers in Northern Uganda. As an organization, Capable works hand in hand with clients to help them understand their own strength and vision for a brighter future. They drive hard toward the specific goal of seeing clients income reach beyond the $1.90 line of extreme poverty. It has always been Arthur’s passion to achieve greater impact by inserting strong business and management practices into the non-profit space. In his role at Capable, he has the privilege of overseeing the design and implementation of systems that provide feedback on the KPI’s that drive the organization forward. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
