Here’s Great Tip: Evolution of Entrepreneurship | Melvin Poh | TEDxUMSKK

Here is Something You Should See…

“Technology can help us get to where we want to go, but without knowing why we want to get there, the metamorphosis is meaningless…”

On the first edition of TEDxUMSKK, Melvin Poh shares his views on the evolution of entrepreneurship. Melvin Poh founded The Asian Entrepreneur, 7 years ago while he was studying at Harvard
University. With other co-founders from Harvard; his work has exposed him to countless of
interesting experiences in the startup community and exciting personal stories of entrepreneurs
going through transformative journeys, realising their bold (and sometimes unconventional) visions
and impacting society in the face of adversity and challenge through courage, persistence, creativity
and technology. Essentially, he believes that entrepreneurship has fundamentally transformed in
every aspect in the last decade and has done extensive research on the evolution of
entrepreneurship. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at

  1. definitely not only are we seeing more young people & internet type businesses but also their ideas for business are also more fresh. I liked how he brought up this point about transparency, its becoming harder for business to scam us today. Back in my days, you needed an explosive investigation by a news team but today everything is on Facebook

  2. Stumbled across this vid. Glad I did. Some very good and interesting points by the speaker. I think in the 21st century there has been a rapid shift from traditional industry that the Industrial Revolution brought through industrialization, to an economy based on information technology. And this new economy has new opportunities for new players, we need to realize business is not the same but so different. The sooner we realize this the better.
