Here’s Great Tip: Dodging a 9-5 and Pursuing Entrepreneurship in College | Ashley Mason | TEDxStonehillCollege

Here is Something You Should See…

Four years ago, when stepping onto the Stonehill College campus as a freshman, I probably would’ve laughed if someone told me I’d graduate four years later and work full-time for myself as a marketing consultant. Sure, I’d always dreamed of owning a business – but I also always had limiting beliefs that made me feel as though I had to conform to a “societal belief” that I MUST work for corporate America before going off on my own. These past four years have been full of change – attending college, taking care of my mom as she battled terminal brain cancer, and growing a business when everyone else thought I shouldn’t – but it all is what makes me, well, ME. Ashley Mason is a marketing consultant and the CEO of Dash of Social. Starting her business at just the age of 19, she worked hard and took risks that allowed her to reach her first six-figure year by the age of 21 and take it full-time… all while attending college. Passionate about entrepreneurship, Ashley hopes to inspire young adults from around the world to follow their dreams regardless of their age and what others may think. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
