Awesome Tip: How Losing Money Can Make Your Business Stronger

People often make the mistake of thinking that building a strong brand leads to immediate and direct financial results. On this episode of “Monday Marketing Tips”, Gary sits down with Uber’s VP of Global Marketing, Thomas Ransese, to talk about how the company is using COVID-19 and social distancing as an opportunity to build trust with their consumers, even at the cost of their own financial gain, by telling them to not use uber (or how to use Uber safely). They discuss how at first this seems counter-productive to the business and how it has actually benefited them and will continue to benefit them in the long-term. There is a lot of value for businesses here that feel that are struggling during the pandemic, so please watch this closely… Enjoy!

  1. big fan – but i have a very specific question concerning niche businesses and specific geographic locations? – I build sandcastles on south padre island in Texas – how do i convince more partner investors to come on board for this location to promote the #1 asset we have – the only resource we have – the beach??
i produce videos for my own businesses and am #1 on trip advisor but unless people come to my location i won't get their business! The local CVB is lost as to what to do with their location marketing and has repeat lists of boring across the net
i loved your Facebook story ads story on a recent vid about best ways to produce for 2020 but as i have such a niche, and a specific location what should be my core focus on?
I love youtube and produce content that has be moved up (production) but should i focus on both – youtube and FB or just run daily shows say 3 times a week on FB live to link to ads or just FB…youtube copies can be edited anytime. Not sure what to do as the budget is not focused as market changes and the pandemic has caused a re – think – thought the business was done but then summer was good
your help with focusing would help – but i am a small guy and not a multi-millionaire
am focused on securing my future at this location using models i could easily apply elsewhere if shit goes sideways – hurricanes etc!!
as i said 2020 vid thing was excellent – especially – hello Ohio, hello Dallas, hello Oklahoma bit – thought about it but never done it – 30 million folks in Texas plenty for me as 10% will always choose a Texas beach
do i need partners? or should i just go fuck it and make my own stuff which is how i got to the top anyway? loved the targeting google ads based on FB followers and content searches…never knew that was a thing…my name is Andy Hancock and i am a sculptor, idea generator and person who has done stuff all over the world based on the sentence " you cant do that!, oh really? call me – i would love 5 minutes to get your direct answer, love your directness, like mine..LOL
    hope help is possible
    Andy

  2. Moved back in with my mom at 27 for a year! I 100% recommended it! Saved so much money & started really doing what I wanted to do because I didn’t have to have 2 jobs anymore. Since the pandemic I became unemployed my mom told me I needed a “real” job because she doesn’t understand you can make a career online. She gave me the ultimatum of moving out or getting a “real” job so I moved out & I’m living in my car & I couldn’t be more happy! I believe in myself so much & I’m so blessed to be where I am at today! Gary thank you so much for all the real game you spit! Been watching you for years & now I’m finally getting into gear!!
