Awesome Tip: Do You Need to Fix Your Perspective on Life? | Meeting With 4 People Who Supported Crushing It!

For those of you that remember, a few months ago, at the launch of Crushing It!, I held a competition/raffle that if you bought 10 copies of Crushing It!, you had the chance to have breakfast with me at VaynerMedia in New York City – this is that meeting 😉

  1. You're wide awake, but everyone else around you seem to sleepwalking. So you go around asking them hey are you awake. Hey are YOU awKe? And everyone is like yeah I'm awake, what's wrong with You? So you start to think just that. What's wrong with me? You start trying to fit yourself into their program and get in sync with them but something is off. You're just not fitting in.
All of sudden Gary Vee shows up, looks around, looks right you and says, "Holy shit, all these people are sleep walking!"

  2. Yes. To. All.
Be authentic. Put out content. Don’t complain. Oh! With the VR idea! Yes! Or live an hour like someone that is living on the streets. Or who is way less fortunate than you. No one is grateful for what they have.
    Perspective is everything.

  3. Love this content but it'd be great to see more business owners that look like me sitting at the table participating in these type of sessions. Wondering what's up with that..?? Are they not raising their hand?

  4. 4:16 You said: “…They love you blindly. Your mom, if you’re lucky enough”

With this statement you instantly caused thousands of people with loving mothers to be grateful, and provided perceivable empathy for people who don’t have mothers… Pretty awesome.

  5. 0:591:20 1 time. Two years and a half years ago I heard 1 key note from this new guy "to me" and I looked at my sister in the middle of the keynote and said I know what I'm creating, a digital marketing company. I'm sure I'll run into you sometime to thank you. Thanks Gary! Currently working on scaling what I have and came across this vid. Thanks for everything.

  6. The moment when Gary said that a parent says after they get really old "You remember 28 years ago when I told you don't go for it and you still did? I'm proud of you." I STARTED CRYING. MY MOM WON'T EVER SAY THAT. MY FATHER WON'T SAY IT TO ME, TOO. Because they think that me, at 24 years old, am wasting my time by taking baby steps. I am trying to make YouTube videos for fun and to get a message across. And I do photography, too.. I do so many things simultaneously and they still think that I am wasting my time because I am not earning as much money as they expect me to do. A PTA that eorks full-time gets about 2000 euros. I am eorking part time 30% which makes roughly 500 euros each month but I am trying to change my workplace to earn more money. But I know I wouldn't be doing it for me, I would be working for my parent's approval. For my parent's happiness. That's not why I wanna do it but getting stressed because parent's want you to fulfill their ideals and their expectations is not mentally healthy for me either. I have been saying to them "fuck your expectations" so many times. They are crying because we don't earn as much money, theybare crying because my brother doesn't have an apprenticeship, they are crying brcause they say we aren't working full-time. I am stuck. I don't know what to do.

  7. The exchange thing was spot fucking on. Why do you think I am back watching now?? It’s bc I spent a few years or so grinding out there trying to start something substantial. Prior to that I was reading your books and watching your videos for years (lurking and not commenting). And I will continue to go through this process until I find what I am looking for. Thank you Gary Vee for inspiring me every day

  8. Nah nah nah see… Everyone has it all wrong, GARY'S POINT IS THIS.. GARY VEE MAKES USE OF THE "LITTLE BIT" THAT HE HAS AVAILABLE TO HIM. He makes the most out of a teeny tiny bit in life, so that when he gets "a lot" in life, it just MULTIPLIES and GROWS. Gary knows how to make the most out of the LEAST.

  9. Gary has the magnetic touch in life.. He is an influential person naturally without really thinking about it. Everyone wants this huge "success", BUT I'M SICK OF THINKING I HAVE TO BE THIS MAJOR SUCCESS STORY.. JUST DO WHAT THE HECK YOU WANNA DO IN LIFE AND STOP SEEKING APPROVAL AND JUSTIFICATION FROM PEOPLE. 😉

  10. On the doing stuff for free part I had two different professors with two different opinions back when I studied management. Mister A said an intern must be paid no matter what because a student of said faculty must not cheapen the worth of his kin. Miss B said that if the intern thinks the intership will give a better network and some skills, it doesn't matter that the company can't spare the funds. I'm in the middle. If I can get paid, good, if it really really interests me, I think I might do it for free.
