Here is Something You Should See…

‘Self-employment isn’t just the way of the future, it’s already here. Zero-hours contracts are self-employment, but the worst kind, all the risk with none of the control.’
The job for life is fast becoming a thing of the past. Technology and how we do business is accelerating this change, yet the school system, in terms of the taught subjects has remained basically unchanged for over 50 years. Are we setting our youngsters up for a workplace that no longer exists?
Having been self-employed for most of her working life Sarah Short is perfectly placed to deliver her argument for the benefits of adding entrepreneurial skills to the school curriculum.
‘If we teach our young people how to create their own incomes, they at least have that choice. Entrepreneurs create wealth. Our country needs entrepreneurs.’

Sarah Short is a master business coach, sales mentor and trainer. She is a passionate advocate for self-employment and founder of The Sales Academy For Girls. Sarah works with businesses of all sizes, from one-woman-bands to companies with multi-million pound turnovers helping them get out of their own way and achieve their business goals.
During an eventful early career Sarah opened and ran her own English language school and ran a franchised branch of a drama school both in the UK and in Botswana.
Sarah currently resides in the Lake District with her family, three cats and a dog. She plays the piano and has recently learnt the whole of the second movement of Beethoven’s Pathetique Sonata in C Minor.
