Here’s Great Tip: The Hacker Mindset | Tim Summers | TEDxRochester

Here is Something You Should See…

There is definitely a hacker stereotype. Dr. Tim Summers wants us to flip the pervasive idea that hackers are criminals and do not create positive impact. In his talk, Tim draws on both his research and personal experience as a hacker to let us in on how hackers think and how understanding the “hacker mindset” might help all of us be more creative and prepared to solve today’s and tomorrow’s vexing problems.

Dr. Timothy C. Summers is a hacker, professor, and consulted expert on the theory and practice of hacker cognitive psychology. Tim is also the Founder of WikiBreach.org and the Director of Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Engagement at the University of Maryland, College Park, in the College of Information Studies (iSchool).

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at

  2. are you sure you should have said i was geeky instead of nerdy there is a diffrence a nerd is a foolish or contemptible person who lacks social skills or is boringly studious or a single-minded expert in a particular technical field. contemptible means desrving the feeling that a person or a thing is worthless spending a lot of time studying or reading studios means spending a lot of time studying or reading the second meaning is done deliberately or with a purpose in mind. a geek is an unfashionable or socially inept person engage in or discuss computer-related tasks obsessively or with great attention to technical detail.

  3. you may be an enlightened one or a scientist like every colleague topping the issue know that you just selling and generate confusion to the already resolved problem, the way is not by betraying and mind the own business as best as possible, even if it's not immediately "fixed" we are in Good hands and please the best is to start keeping your body in shape instead of coming to TED, your abusing its rights with this stuff
