Here’s Great Tip: The Big Lie of Small Business | Vusi Thembekwayo | TEDxUniversityofNamibia

Here is Something You Should See…

A small Business can be a success, a small business doesn’t have to stay small. Africa like many places is full of small businesses and struggling entrepreneurs, from small shop owners to street vendors. Vusi challenges the African business community as a whole to help grow these entrepreneurs as most businesses need capital and other forms of support from the more well established businesses and for bankers to play their part. As a continent Africa can become an economic giant of the world.

Known as a “Rock star of public speaking” Vusi is the only speaker globally to have been invited to the Dragon’s Den as an investor. This is because he has built several businesses. Today, as Chairman of Watermark Afrika Fund he is spearheading a pan-African process of raising the largest Growth Fund of high growth, high potential entrepreneurs in Africa.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at

  1. So this clip continues to have less than a mil views, I mean where will the African continent find hope if not from one of its own testifying instead of going and hiding somewhere in the world….this is really worrying because the amount of substance in his Ted talk needs a bit of recognition and accumulated inspiration.

  2. Africans listen attentively, we are not to continually make unnecessary blames about the conspiracy and exploitations happening in our continent, therefore in as much as we continue to accept occult organizations in our various countries in the name of being wealthy and famous we are therefore digging our graves with our bare hands and what will forever see and be is calamity, chaos, massacre, diseases and the likes as portrayed in the stereotypes in film and in reality. So my advise is for us to unite and provide for our selves what to eat, wear, shelter, and the likes and lastly know whom and whom we elect as our leaders, if not depending on foreign countries is the main reason that gives room for indirect slavery that is taking place in our continent. So my advise is for us to be back on our senses and acquire knowledge of various kind and do the right thing so as to pave way the future of our up coming offsprings.

  3. I'm sad that a lot of people in africa are suffering, and that a lot of them find solution in making money. The monopoly game needs to stop, and people need to realize that. People are making money importing/exporting goods from all around the world, finding who will produce with less money, polluting the environment
when they produce, move the goods ecc..
The land and the resources don't need to be for sale, nature don't sells you bananas or pigs, nature gives all for free, all that we have is present in nature, and nature don't ask us for money. People need to fight togheter for their land, around the world there are a lot of rich persons that are buying land with little money, they are going to come to africa. People need to grow crops, plant trees, raise animals, build houses togheter. don't fight be united. Don't look at how european or american live, we have a lot of problems in our society, a lot of people they are born with nothing, a lot are running like wild horses for making money and they forget about them selfs, about family. We are all sick.
People should not ask other for money, the society is a group of persons, you need to be a group. Don't think like single individuals, to protect only your family and leave behind your friend, your neighbour. Dont use money, money is a limit in resources, they limit the people that don't have. you have a country with a lot of land and a lot of good persons, be united, work togheter.Defend your country from the invaders, dont use their politics and their money. capitalism
has failed, it is not sustainable for the human kind, for the animals and for the earth.

  4. 17:18 You heard it here first folks, the guy with a verbal fluidity rate well above that of the average person is no more able then the rest of us. Now if you will excuse me I am off to see if I can dunk from the free throw line…

  5. 7:00 Yeah, the lack of investment in a unitary railroad linking the entirety of Africa is a sure sign that international bankers are conspiring against you and has nothing to do with the fact that Africa is home to the dense jungle and expansive desert.
