Melissa is a designer, a maker, and an all around nice girl who has recently developed an obsession with the startup world. After 10 years of working in the corporate, in-house environment, she escaped to what ended up being her dream career as the Design Overlord for tech startup, Curalate, the marketing suite for the visual web. In addition, Melissa has been a speaker at HOW Design Live and is currently an organizer of Startup Weekend in Philadelphia.

TEDxPhoenixville, the first TEDx event in the Philadelphia region, celebrates the creative, innovative and inspiring work happening right here and all around the world. Our objective is to present thought-provoking ideas via an annual day-long event featuring compelling speakers and performers.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
