Here is Something You Should See…
The digital revolution is changing the way we live and work – but workers and companies are not changing as quickly as the technology. Remote lifestyles are becoming more commonplace, and more people are choosing to work from home with a more flexible lifestyle. Opportunities that once required relocation to a big city are now available to more people, and anyone can now run a successful international business from even the most isolated location in a way that would have been difficult a few years ago. This change is also allowing greater participation in the workforce from countries that used to be excluded, as anyone with a good internet connection can offer their services online. In this TEDx talk, James Ellsmoor offers his experiences of starting two businesses while living as a digital nomad and explains why we need to rethink our relationship with space and distance. This TEDx was curated by Jercori Freeman James Ellsmoor is an award-winning serial entrepreneur and writer, bringing to life his passion for sustainability and renewable energy. At the age of just 26, he is Co-Founder and Director of Solar Head of State, an international nonprofit working with governments in the Caribbean and Pacific islands to raise awareness of renewable energy through high-profile solar installations on iconic government buildings. He was recognized on Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30 List in 2017 and is also the founder of the Virtual Island Summit. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
