Joana Moreira is Operations Director (COO) at Movimento Transformers, is a Project Manager at IES – Social Business School and she has a career related to the social area.

Joana crossed several neighborhoods in Portugal, youth prisons, orphanages and she did an international mission in São Tomé and Príncipe (Africa) that changed the way she lives her days.
She really believes in the power of good people and in the impact that our actions can generate and transform our society. She is a committed volunteer since her birth and she believes that is the time we dedicate to others (through purposeful work, volunteering and positive relationships) that make us more human.
Degree in Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of Porto, with training in marketing management and social entrepreneurship.
At the age of 16 she did her first volunteer work with children, a project in a social neighbourhood where she was a monitor during the holidays. And since then she has not stopped.
She still believes in the power of good people and her favorite shoes are sport ones/trainers because this way she reaches the people and places she likes the most. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
