This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Chude tells us he is faced with the dilemma of choosing between an activist and an entrepreneur. In his talk, he takes a nosedive into the history of Nigeria from the military era. Chude shows us how seemingly everyday objects like our phones can be just what we need for what we want to achieve. Eventually, he finds the answer to this dilemma; at the crossroads, he finds a middle path and he tows it.
Chude Jideonwo was named by Forbes as one of Africa’s 30 best entrepreneurs under 30, His career is centred on using the media as an active tool to galvanise a generation of Africans to action. He is Managing Partner of RedMedia Africa, owners of The Future Africa Awards Africa & Summit, Y! Africa, and YNaija.com; and founding Executive Director of The Future Project, which empowers young people across Africa through leadership and enterprise. In 2010, he convened friends and colleagues to hold the historic EnoughisEnough protests and co-founded EnoughisEnough Nigeria, which has become the country’s foremost good governance group for young Nigerians.
