  1. Hi Gary I'm sure you won't see this but you've changed my perspective on so much im 28 years old and work in the telecom industry Doing sales and ice always felt i was behind in my life until i started listening to you and changing my mindset so thank you for all you do for people

    Cheers

  2. "When faced with 2 choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment when the coin is in the air YOU SUDDENLY KNOW WHAT YOU'RE HOPING FOR."

  3. Thanks Gary, good timing, I just sent this to my 18 yr. old Granddaughter who quit college and is moving to Texas to do something… she's not sure what, but she wants to go forward with something to do with business…

  4. I’ve gotta tell you I am at a crossroads. I thought becoming a beer sommelier (Certified Cicerone) would give me an edge in being noticed as a beer writer in Australia. It took a lot of hard fucking work. Only one in three pass the exam. I did. But nobody knows what a Certified Cicerone is here and being legally blind by default precludes me from working in the beer industry in any capacity. I get kudos from brewers, industry folks, retailers and passionate beer lovers who love my writing and I could probably double what I receive from the disability support benefit through publishing guidebooks on Melbourne’s best beer destinations and how to get your glass “beer clean”. But you know what? The flame within sometimes gets deprived of oxygen. I know what can be achieved and how to go about it. And I will always love beer especially as long as there are innovators like Wildflower (who ferment their beers with the yeast captured from native NSW flowers) arriving on the scene. But I dunno. Getting a bottle of Wildflower on every dinner table is impossible. (Rhetorically speaking – take it as read getting people to drink better beer is impossible). I feel there is nothing I can do within the sphere that would be unprecedented or that could break beer’s fixed in predominantly male 30s demographic. Even with the advent of Tik Tok. Moreover my goal of travelling to the US to sample the best the world has to offer is out of reach as travel is prohibited to me unless I am guaranteed citizenship in Australia (I arrived without my blindness being disclosed). To that end in recent weeks while plugging away I have honestly thought of changing trains at Life Choices Central and leaving all that behind at the luggage claim. I have always had a passion and love for headphones and music, and making a career out of reviewing headphones from Apple EarPods right up to the good stuff from Empire Ears, 64 Audio, Noble Audio et al is looking pretty good right now. Both trains are pulling into the station as we speak……….

  5. Gary v, thank you for giving me hope in a hopeless situation. Dude you would love the stuff im sitting on that id like to sell. Encyclopedias from the fifties, a stamp collection that my grandfather collected during the nazi era, i got a classic 1972 r5 yamaha 350 that needs a little work but its considered a classic. Thanks man.
